Huntingdon House

A 1928 family home turned five-suite retreat on Satemwa Tea Estate

Visited by Bon Voyage Club

Huntingdon House on Satemwa Tea Estate is one of the most peaceful places in the country, just 48 km from Blantyre.

The magnificent house, built as a family home by Maclean Kay in 1928, is the heart of the estate and is surrounded by manicured gardens with secret patios and terraces. Guests stay in five unique suites with claw-foot baths, separate showers and thoughtful amenities.

The estate looks out to Mount Mulanje and the Lower Shire valley. Thyolo is among Malawi's most scenic regions — a patchwork of hills and immaculately kept tea and coffee.
