Khulubvi Shrine

Sacred home of M'bona, the legendary rainmaker of the Shire Valley

Khulubvi, in Traditional Authority Ngabu in Nsanje, is the spiritual home of M'bona — the legendary rainmaker of the Mang'anja people, said to have lived during the rise of the Lundu Empire. Rituals are still performed at the shrine today.

Visits are arranged with the Nsanje District Council and the local chiefs. Visitors are asked to follow the elders' guidance: no shoes, no mobile phones and no photographs at the shrine.
